Clear skies seen this week
Expect generally good weather during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit this week.
Save for isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms, Metro Manila and most of Luzon are expected to experience “good weather” today (Monday) until Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said, in a report delivered by weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio on Sunday afternoon.
A low pressure area, estimated at 205 kilometers southeast of General Santos City, South Cotabato, as of 3 p.m. on Sunday, is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered light to heavy rains in Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao.
But it is unlikely to intensify into a tropical cyclone and may possibly dissipate by today or tomorrow, Aurelio said.
In Pagasa’s weekly weather outlook issued last Friday, the state weather bureau said that no tropical cyclone was expected to form in or enter the Philippine area of responsibility this week. —Jaymee T. Gamil
