Low pressure area to bring rains in parts of Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) will dampen parts of Mindanao, the weather bureau said in its Sunday forecast.

The weather system will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the regions of Caraga, Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN and the provinces of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon which may trigger flash floods and landslides, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in its 11:00 a.m. bulletin.

It was last tracked at 10:00 a.m. at 295 km East of General Santos City, South Cotabato, Pagasa said.

Meawhile, tropical storm “Haikui” (local name “Salome”) is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

It was located at 710 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur at 3:00 a.m. /je
