CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bulacan State University (BulSU) main campus in this city resumed classes on Friday (November 10) following a bomb threat that turned out to be false.
Two K-9 units of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) were pulled out from the ASEAN Summit security team in Clark, Pampanga on Thursday (November 9) to help the Bulacan bomb disposal team inspect the school, police said.
But no bombs were found following Thursday’s thorough search from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. search of the 8-hectare campus.
BulSU President Cecilia Gascon ordered the school cleared after a faculty member received a text message at 1 p.m. (not 3 p.m. as earlier reported) last November 9.
The text message stated: “Maglaro tayo. May mga bomba akong ikinalat sa Bulacan State University. Tingnan natin kung magaling ba kayong maghanap. Kaya nio kaya silang sagipin? Kilos na, tumatakbo ang oras. Umpisa pa lang ito ng lahat.”

Bulacan police officers and the province’s canine unit from the Police Public Safety Command (PPSC) have been assigned Clark, Pampanga since last week to augment security for the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nation (Asean) Summit. /kga
