Tropical Depression “Salome” is expected to dump moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila on Thursday evening.
The rains in the city are expected between 8 p.m. to 12 midnight, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The tropical cyclone is also likely to intensify into a tropical storm as it crosses Sibuyan Sea.
Salome continued to head towards Southern Quezon to Marinduque area in west northwest direction.
Metro Manila, Rizal, Bataan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Romblon, Marinduque, Quezon, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro were placed under Signal No. 1.
Salome was last spotted 65 km southwest of Pili, Camarines Sur. It blew winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 90 kph. /je
