4 killed, 5 hurt in Pangasinan road crashes

DAGUPAN CITY — Four persons were killed while five others were wounded in separate road accidents in Pangasinan province on Thursday (Nov. 2) and Friday (Nov. 3), police said.

At 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Fernando Romua, 65, died on the way to a hospital after his tricycle collided with the motorcycle of Randy Valencia, 30, along the northbound lane of the Manila North Road in Sumabnit village in Binalonan town.

In Bautista town, Ryan Cayabyab, 35, was killed when his head struck a concrete fence. Cayabyab was thrown off his motorcycle after being sideswiped by a sports utility vehicle in Barangay (village) Nibaliw Norte at about 10 a.m.

In Urdaneta City, 21-year-old Jennifer Del Rosario Hora did not reach the hospital alive after she and two others were thrown off a motorcycle after crashing into a concrete plant box at 4:25 a.m. in Barangay Nancalobasaan.

Police said the motorcycle driver identified as Ram John Juan, 19, and the second back rider Jennifer Balleras Austria, 21, were hurt.

On Thursday night, a head-on collision between a tricycle and a motorcycle in Malasiqui town cost the life of the motorcycle driver.

Rommel Tagabi, 17, a Grade 11 student, suffered head injuries and died while being taken to a hospital.

The tricycle driver, Francis Mandapat, 31, and his wife, Melanie Mandapat, 34, were injured.  /jpv
