Manila announces road closures on Nov. 4-5

The stretch of Independence Road from Katigbak Drive to South Drive will be closed to traffic starting Saturday night for the send-off ceremony for security forces participating in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit on Sunday.

The road will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 10 p.m. for the ceremony at 6 a.m. the following day, the Manila Police District said.

Close to 60,000 police personnel will be deployed in Metro Manila and Pampanga for the summit.

The roads will be closed until the ceremony is done.

There will be a re-routing of vehicles in the following areas:

1.) All vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive and P. Burgos, intending to use Katigbak Drive, shall go straight to Roxas Boulevard to point of destination.

2.) All vehicles coming from Roxas Boulevard and TM Kalaw intended to use South Drive, shall go straight to Roxas Boulevard to point of destination.

3.) All vehicles going to and from Manila Ocean Park/ H2O Hotel and Manila Hotel shall use Katigbak Drive as access road.

Meanwhile, the Skyway Corp. said there will be intermittent closures of Skyway and NaiaX Elevated from Nov. 9 to 15 for the Asean delegates.
