7 hurt as bus rams solid barrier on QC ‘killer highway’

Seven people were injured after a bus plying Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City crashed into a concrete barrier on Wednesday.

Two men and five women were injured and were immediately brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

Police Office 2 (PO2) Enrico Vitarbo said a Mayamy Bus with license plate number TXW 386 was travelling towards Fairview around 9:45 a.m. when it hit the barrier placed in the construction site of Metro Rail Transit 7 near Commonwealth Market.

Investigators have yet to identify the driver as he immediately fled the scene, Vitarbo told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.

The driver would be facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries, the police officer noted.
