A Quezon City Regional Trial Court (QCRTC) has rejected the bail petition of the two suspects in the killing of professional racer Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor, his mother said on Tuesday.
Remy Pastor, who was present during the hearing, said QCRTC Branch 85 Judge Juris Dilinila-Callanta denied bail to suspects Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman, the alleged mastermind in the killing; and police officer Edgar Angel, the alleged gunman.
“It was a good hearing. I’m so happy. Inside me, I was jumping,” Remy told INQUIRER.net in an interview.
She said the decision was a good development in what she described as “a long battle” to obtain justice for the death of her son.
Since the two suspects’ bail petition was denied, De Guzman, who is locked up at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City; and Angel would remain in jail.
Meanwhile, Dahlia Pastor is still at large after she was charged with parricide for allegedly conspiring with her alleged lover, De Guzman, to kill her husband, Enzo, on June 12, 2014.
“She (Dahlia) cannot run away from justice. Flight means guilt,” Remy said.
She said they have been in constant communication with Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguire II for the arrest of Dahlia. She refused to disclose Dahlia’s whereabouts.
Remy said the P1-million bounty from President Rodrigo Duterte for informants who could provide leads on the arrest of Dahlia still holds. The family of Enzo is among Duterte’s closest friends. /kga
