BAGUIO CITY — The city’s main thoroughfare, Session Road, turned into what looked like the set of the popular cable TV series “Walking Dead” on Friday as hundreds of students assembled a Halloween party to entertain residents and tourists.

Students turned into ghouls, ghosts and other horror creatures and ran after pedestrians, moving like zombies to recreate the feel of being chased by the undead.

The students went on a parade and street dance after the fun chase at around 7 p.m.

School children laughed at the antics of a group of zombies, some made up with doll parts glued to their stomachs to simulate fresh kills.

One group was dressed like Japanese horror movie creature, “Sadako,” of the horror flick “The Ring” while another group suited up as black-faced “kapre.”

The University of Baguio (UB) first organized a Halloween street party in 2016, which had become part of the city government’s calendar of events for October. UB officials said 1,012 students took part in the party.

Although the event delighted many people, the city was beset with monstrous traffic jams that lasted until late on Friday. Session Road was closed as early as Friday morning, requiring all motorists headed for or from the downtown area to take side streets, according to the police.
