Suspected US pedophile falls

/ 05:06 AM October 24, 2017

An American suspected of being a pedophile was arrested by immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport last week before he could meet with minors whom he had befriended online.

The Bureau of Immigration said that it took Robin Hoyt Alderman, 58, into custody after he arrived in the country from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Officials did not specify if Alderman had been convicted of sex crimes anywhere but Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the US Embassy informed them of his impending arrival.

Alderman was turned over to the Philippine National Police, which brought him to Camp Crame for further investigation. —Julie M. Aurelio
