Typhoon “Paolo” (international name Lan) slightly intensified Thursday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
The typhoon packed maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Paolo was last located 930 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora, moving north northwest at 15 kph.
The low pressure area also being monitored by Pagasa was last located 175 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa City.
Visayas, Bicol region, Zamboanga peninsula, ARMM and Palawan province will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms due to Typhoon Paolo and the LPA.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, rest of Mindanao, provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Typhoon Paolo.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening. /je
