The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will hold another round of voters’ registration for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections that have been postponed to next year.

Resigned Comelec Chair Andres Bautista said the poll body had already set the registration period for qualified regular and youth voters.

“We will hold a registration period from Nov. 6 to 30 for those who were unable to register the last time,” Bautista said.

In particular, the registration period will target younger Filipinos who will be eligible to vote by the second Monday of May 2018, the new date for the said polls.

“Our youths who will turn 15 years old by May 14, 2018, they can already register for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections next year,” he explained.

The poll body earlier announced its plan to hold a new round of voters’ registration, following the postponement of the Oct. 23 barangay and youth polls to May 2018.

The deferment took effect after President Duterte signed Republic Act No. 10952 earlier this month.
