A company executive died after falling from the 10th floor of his office building in Pasig City on Friday morning, the police said.
The body of Ferdinand Edwin Coseteng was found on the pavement just outside a bank at Tower 3 of Rockwell Business Center on Ortigas Avenue, Barangay Ugong.
Coseteng was brought to The Medical City hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
According to a report by Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, the district director of the Eastern Police District, which covers Pasig, a security guard at the bank said he heard a loud thud and sensed that something fell from the tower around 8 a.m.
The report quoted a witness as saying that the 54-year-old Coseteng was seen stepping on a chair and jumping from the 10th floor of the 16-story building, where his office was located.
Coseteng was the executive vice president of First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPHC), a management and investment firm that is part of the Lopez Group of Companies.
He was also the president of First Philippine Industrial Park Inc. and First Philippine Electric Corp., according to the FPHC website.
His profile posted on the website also said he was a director of Rockwell Land Corp.
