‘Odette’ continues to bring rains over parts of N. Luzon

Tropical Storm “Odette” (international name Khanun) has continued to bring moderate to heavy rains in parts of Northern Luzon as it crossed Ilocos Sur, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Friday.

The state weather bureau, however, noted that most portions of Northern Luzon will experience improved conditions by Sunday.

As of 10 a.m. this Friday, Odette was located 45 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur. It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility this Friday evening or early Saturday.

The storm blew winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 100 kph. It moved west southwest at 24 kph.

Pagasa said that the seaboards of Northern Luzon continue to be dangerous for travel.       /kga
