PDEA agents arrest 3 in Butuan City for selling ‘shabu’

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested three suspected drug personalities in Butuan City in three buy-bust operations that yielded a miniscule amount of illegal drugs.

The suspects were identified as Roselier Toyco, alias Bulitas or Loloy, 51; Joel Sanico, 38; and Cindy Alcantara, alias Noli, 32, according to a statement issued by PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino.

Agents of the PDEA office in the Caraga Region conducted buy-busts in three days.

On Oct. 4, they arrested Toyco in Purok 6, Barangay Babag and seized form him a sachet of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, worth P2,500 and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Two days later, on Oct. 6, they arrested Sanico in Purok 8, Barangay Fort Poyohon and seized from him five transparent sachets of suspected shabu.

A day later, they arrested Alcantara in her home in Langihan Road, Purok 12 and seized from her two sachets of shabu.

The three suspects, who are now detained at the PDEA Caraga Region jail facility in Butuan, are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Toyco and Sanico’s drug examinations showed they were positive for using illegal drugs. /atm
