MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area was seen east of southern Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Monday.

The LPA was seen 700 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Visayas and Mindanao, it said.

Meanwhile, Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Eastern and Central Visayas and Northern Mindnanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, it added.
