Oct. 8

 

Lubi-Lubi Festival

The town of Glan, also known as the “Coco Queen of the South,” in Sarangani province celebrates the many uses of its top product. The festival features a street dancing competition, with participants clad in costumes adorned with coconut materials. Other products made from coconut such as home decors and “bahalina,” a coconut liquor, are showcased in the festivities.

Oct. 10

Kanduli Festival

A religious and cultural festival in Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat province. In “Kanduli,” which means offering, Muslims give thanks and say a prayer to fellow Muslims who have done good. Local delicacies from every barangay are offered during the festival.

Oct. 12

Karakol Festival

Locals of Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro pay homage to their patron saint Nuestra Señora del Pilar in a festive parade.

Participants dressed in colorful costumes and hats  dance to the music while they carry the patron saint’s image.
