Girl rescued from ‘abusive’ father in Zambales
OLONGAPO CITY – Authorities have rescued a 5-year-old girl from an abuser, her own father, in Zambales on Thursday.
Policemen and social workers stormed the house of the minor’s father in Barangay (village) Cawag in Subic town after they were tipped off by a concerned citizen about the alleged abuse.
The father was allegedly molesting her daughter.
The child was found inside the home but her father eluded arrest, Fr. Shay Cullen said.
Cullen, an Irish priest, runs Preda Foundation that provides shelter for abused children.
“The child is apparently traumatized. She won’t talk and she looks afraid,” Cullen told the Inquirer.
