LEGAZPI CITY, Albay—A 14-hour scheduled power outage which began around 6 a.m. hit this city and the towns of Daraga and Sto. Domingo on Friday.
The Albay Power and Energy Corporation (APEC) advisory issued on Thursday explained that the power interruption was to give way to the installation of power transformers and the regular maintenance work.
The APEC advisory also said the areas affected in Legazpi City, Daraga and Sto. Domingo are villages under Feeders 1 to 4.
The advisory also said areas covered by the Washington Substation would experience 30-minute power interruption from 6 to 6:30 a.m. and another power interruption at 7:30 to 8 p.m., also Friday.
Another 8-hour brownout (from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) would hit at least eight villages in the town of Oas on Saturday. This, according to APEC, is because linemen will replace a broken primary pole in Barangay (village) Naga.
