Taguig wants out of DSWD ‘shame list’

/ 05:04 AM October 04, 2017

The Taguig government wants itself out of the “shame list” of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The Taguig government said it could not liquidate its P17.64 million feeding program funds yet because they were downloaded just in December last year.

Dr. Natividad Jimenez, head of the Local School Board which implements the daycare feeding program, explained that bidding for the program took two months.

Thus, the Taguig government with the concurrence of DSWD’s coordinator decided to implement the feeding program starting June 2017 in order to complete the 120-day program. —DEXTER CABALZA
