Did You Know: Oct. 4 is Kindness to Animals Day

The fourth of October is Kindness to Animals Day by virtue of Proclamation No. 537 signed on Sept. 30, 1958 by then President Carlos Garcia.

The proclamation highlights the importance of inculcating the virtues of kindness, justice and mercy to all live creatures and abhor all forms of cruelty to both men and animals. —Marielle Medina
