CITY OF CALAPAN – Authorities arrested on Tuesday a village councilor after he yielded an allegedly unlicensed firearm in Socorro town in Oriental Mindoro.

Police identified the suspect as Ronilo Robledo, 47. He was found in possession of a .38-caliber revolver without serial number, a holster and a fired cartridge case for the same gun in his house.
Lawmen, armed with a warrant issued by Judge Harry Jaminola of Regional Trial Court Branch 41 on September 19, searched the suspect’s house around 5:30 p.m. located in Barangay Batong Dalig.

The search warrant was issued for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, according to a report from the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) police.

Police said Robledo is also seventh in the list of top drug personalities in Oriental Mindoro.                   /kga
