TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Pia Madrazo, a resident of Moto Norte in Loon town, was in their two-story house relaxing after dinner when she felt the ground was shaking.
Madrazo, 35, ran outside the house for safety.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), three earthquakes occurrence happened shook several parts of Bohol on Monday evening.
The first tremor, with 2.1 magnitude, occurred at 8:30 p.m. 3 km northeast of Cortes town.
At 8:50 p.m., the second with a 2.3-magnitude occurred 4 km southeast in Sagbayan town.
At 8:56 p.m., a 3.7-magnitude quake occurred 3 km northwest of Cortes town.
Madrazo lives in Loon town which is near Cortes.
The quakes were tectonic in origin, Phivolcs said.
Several netizens posted in the social media that the tremor was also felt in several towns.
No damage and aftershocks were expected. –Leo Udtohan
