Most parts of the country will experience rains due to two low pressure areas (LPAs), the state weather bureau said Friday.
Visayas, Davao region, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos) and the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains or thunderstorms due to an LPA near Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The LPA was last observed 520 kilometers east northeast of Surigao City.
The regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos, Aurora, and Quezon will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains or thunderstorms caused by an LPA located 215 kilometers east northeast of Infanta Quezon.
Weather forecaster Obet Badrina said the two LPAs are embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).
He also said the two weather disturbances are not yet likely to intensify as tropical cyclones.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Coastal waters throughout the country will be slight to moderate. /idl
