LBC delivery outlet in Catbalogan City robbed of P619k during Pacquiao fight
CATBALOGAN City, Philippines—As most of the people here were busy watching boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao slug it out with his rival Juan Manuel Marquez, a robbery was also in progress in an LBC outlet in this city Sunday afternoon.
Superintendent Avelino Doncillo, city police chief, said that three robbers carted away P619,000 from the vault of the outlet during the heist, which occurred around 12:30 p.m.
The LBC outlet, located at San Francisco Street, Barangay 3, this city, was only manned by Elena Villanueva, 24, when the three robbers entered the outlet.
One of the robbers declared the holdup and directed Villanueva to open the vault where the P619,000 was deposited.
The heist was over in less than 30 minutes, Doncillo said.
The three robbers fled immediately on a motorcycle.

“Perhaps, the three suspects, who were wearing ball caps, took advantage of the fight of Pacquiao,” he said.
The LBC outlet has no security guard of its own although it has its own closed-circuit television, which Doncillo said could help them identify the perpetrators.
