Parts of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said.
These areas include the Caraga and Davao regions, Northern Mindanao and Soccsksargen, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The ITCZ, the area where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres meet, is a potential breeding ground of low pressure areas (LPAs).
An LPA being tracked by Pagasa has left the Philippine area of responsibility, weather forecaster Gener Quitlong said.
Despite the exit of the LPA, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
Coastal waters throughout the country will be slight to moderate. /cbb
