UMak law school to open human rights center

People wondering what former Vice President Jejomar Binay has been up to need no longer wonder at all.

The founding dean of the University of Makati School of Law (UMak SOL) has announced the school’s plans to open a human rights center to “promote awareness on human rights issues and undertake research on legal aspects of human rights.”

Without them, Binay said, “we will be a nation with a system ruled by chaos and dispute.”

He added that the law school would also put up a center to provide free legal assistance to the poor. —Dexter Cabalza
