LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — Police are investigating the death of an Army sergeant and his wife, whose bodies were found with bullet wounds inside their home here, the police said Sunday.
Los Baños police chief Supt. Arvin Avelino, identified the victims as Tech. Sgt. Pedro Talandron, who was assigned at the Army’s 564th Engineering Construction Battalion, and his wife, Rowena.
They were found dead by police who responded to a report from the Barangay Putho-Tuntungin after gunshots were fired inside the Talandrons’ home at the Gawad Kalinga housing site at around 4 p.m.
He said Rowena’s sister discovered the bodies.
Prior to the shooting, “the neighbors heard the couple talking,” Avelino said, adding that the houses there stood close to each other. It was, however, not clear whether the couple were arguing.
The Talandrons had a 17-year-old daughter, but she lived separately from them, Avelino said.
Rowena was found with a bullet wound in the neck, while Pedro had one in his head. The police also found a gun on the scene.
Avelino declined to comment on the possibility of a parricide-suicide, saying it would be up to the Scene of the Crime Operatives to conclude its investigation. /je
