LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police arrested a barangay (village) chairman in Infanta town in Quezon province for allegedly preventing the police from conduct a buy-bust operation in his village early Thursday, police said.

Report from Quezon police alleged that Joselito Auditor, chairman of Barangay Batican, refused the police team to conduct anti-illegal drug operation in the area around 1:15 a.m. The suspect allegedly cursed and shoved the unnamed police officer who was then trying to coordinate with the village official.

The suspect, who is detained at the Infanta police jail, is facing charges of unjust vexation, direct assault and obstruction of justice.
