Pay-per-view, free screenings

EXPECTATIONS are high among Cebuanos for a Manny Pacquiao victory as they join the rest of the country in watching the 12-round title bout billed as the last of the fabled trilogy between the People’s Champ and bitter rival Juan Manuel Marquez.

In Cebu City, pay-per-view at the Cebu Coliseum is at P250 with a hot dog for the ringside, P200 for the lower box, P150 for the upper box and P50 for general admission.

Coliseum manager Ben Tulda said they lowered the price from P300 in the last fight since there are several venues for pay-per-view while some areas offer free viewing. In Mandaue City, fans can see the fight at P100 in the Mandaue City Sports Complex.  Barangays Paknaan, Basak and Umapad are offering free screening in their respective gymnasiums.

In Lapu-Lapu City, the Hoops Dome offers pay-per- view at P75 for  general admission.

Ayala Cinema opened its Cinema 2 for the pay-per view at P400 to P500. Upper seats  were  80 percent sold as of Saturday noon, said Josephine Yares of Ayala Cinema.

RJ Leduna of SM Cebu said they opened Cinema 7 and 8 at P500 with most seats already sold.

Radisson Blu Hotel also offered pay-per-view at P800 with free lunch buffet and one-round drinks. ALA Boxers and officials will watch the fight at the hotel like last year.

Sky Cable offers pay-per-view for its subscribers at P1,199, which is lower than the P1,499 last Pacquiao fight. As of Saturday noon, 3,188 have already subscribed to watch the fight. Correspondents Jhunnex Napallacan,  Edison delos Angeles and Carmel Loise Matus
