2 of 4 QC church robbers caught but loot missing
Two men who reportedly broke into a church in Quezon City and stole P60,000 in cash from donation boxes have been arrested by the police.
Supt. Danilo Mendoza of the Talipapa station said that Gerald Riego and Vincent Sacquing were caught in follow-up operations in Barangay Tandang Sora.
Two other suspects, however, are still being sought: Mary Rose Garcia and Oliver Gabara.
The four were caught on a closed-circuit television camera breaking into the Our Lady of Annunciation Parish and Shrine of the Incarnation on Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Tandang Sora.
The police, however, did not recover any of the loot. According to a security guard, he closed the church at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Around 5 a.m. the next day, a maintenance man noticed that a window at the priest’s quarters was open.
