Signal No. 1 was raised over some parts of Luzon as the low pressure area monitored by the state weather bureau has intensified into a tropical cyclone, the state weather agency said on Monday.
The storm signal was raised over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Northern Quezon, Polilio Island, Aurora, Quirino and Nueva Ecija due to Tropical Depression “Maring,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Maring was last located 300 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon and is expected to make landfall over Aurora-Quezon area on Tuesday afternoon.
It is expected to exit PAR on Thursday afternoon.
The state weather bureau is tracking two tropical cyclones as Typhoon “Lannie” entered the Philippine area of responsibility at 2 p.m. and is expected to move west northwest toward Batanes-Taiwan area.
Sea travel is dangerous over the eastern seaboard of Aurora, Quezon and Bicol region.
Bicol region, Aurora, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales and Pangasinan will have moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms starting Monday to Tuesday.
