MPD nabs 11, seizes 7 kilos of marijuana in Tondo hotel raid

Police authorities seized about seven kilos of marijuana from 11 individuals following a raid at a hotel room in Tondo, Manila on Friday.

In a spot report, joint elements of the Manila Police District’s (MPD) Station 1 and MPD Station 7 Drug Enforcement Team arrested the suspects around 9:30 p.m. at Room 304 of the Citi Royal Hotel along Juan Luna Street in Tondo.

The suspects were identified as: Richard Aldrin Mujar, 21; Daron Enriquez, 18; Christopher Limasin, 19; Christelle Arandia, 22; Kurt Galagana, 20; Rod Lakindanum, 21; Mark Anthony Mariano, 28; John Benedict Maglalang, 21; Jomar Lacap, 21; and two minors.

Police investigation disclosed that one of the two minors was first arrested in front of the hotel for smoking marijuana and pinpointed to his companions at the hotel room as the source of the illegal substance.

The police, after setting up a follow-up raid, confiscated marijuana leaves and stems worth P78,000 from the suspects inside the hotel room.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared against the suspects who were detained at the MPD headquarters. JPV
