DAVAO CITY – For the first time since the start of the Marawi crisis, Muslims prayed at the mosque inside the Islamic Center there on Friday.

The Friday congregational prayer was led by Marawi City police director, Supt.  Ebra Moxsir.

At least 42 Muslim policemen and soldiers joined the Friday prayer at the mosque, which the military retook from the Maute group and its allies on August 24, according to Senior Superintendent Rolando Anduyan, the Commander of the Joint Task Group PNP.

The mosque at the Islamic Center was the second major mosque that government forces had taken from the control of the Maute group and its allies after the Saad al Musairi mosque.
