Civil Service Month is observed every September by virtue of Proclamation No. 1050 signed on July 31, 1997 by then President Fidel Ramos.
The civil service, the collective name of government officials and employees, was established in September 1900 by virtue of Public Law No. 5.
The Civil Service Commission, which holds office at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Diliman, Quezon City, is tasked to spearhead the yearly commemoration. —Marielle Medina
