Batangas City mayor’s uncle killed

BATANGAS CITY— The 81-year-old uncle of Batangas City Mayor Beverley Dimacuha-Mariño was shot and killed Tuesday night by an unidentified gunman, police said on Wednesday.

Senior Inspector Hazel Luma-Ang, of the Batangas police information office, identified the victim as Ruben Dimacuha, owner of RB Dimacuha Square and Total Gas Station. He was shot twice by the unidentified assailant around 6:10 p.m. while he was sitting in front of his office.

Dimacuha sustained gunshot wounds in his chest and left arm, and died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police investigators are yet to determine the motive behind the incident. kga
