Man found dead in motel; girlfriend missing
MANILA, Philippines—A government employee was found dead stark naked inside an inn early Saturday after spending the night with a girlfriend who is now missing, police said.
Police Officer 2 Rommel Mayo identified the victim as Virgilio Estrada, 59, a resident of Lourdes Street in Victory Heights, Caloocan City.
The man, a farm supervisor of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, was found lifeless inside one of the rooms of Yaya’s Apartelle on Labayane Road in Barangay North Fairview.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was separated from his wife at the time of his death, Mayo said.
Police learned that Estrada checked in at the inn with an unidentified woman at 1:45 p.m. Friday for a 12-hour stay.
A room girl recalled that at around 1:45 a.m. Friday, she knocked at the door of the room to tell its occupants that they were due to check out.

Mayo said he was still waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death, noting that Estrada did not have any external injuries.
He added that the victim’s family was informed about his death although the wife was reportedly upset at the fact that her husband was in a motel with another woman.
