Pagasa sees Fair weather over long weekend in Metro, major cities
The long weekend may actually be a good time for a staycation for residents of Metro Manila as the weather bureau forecasts fair weather in the nation’s capital and other major cities in the country.
In a weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said fair weather was expected in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao over the weekend as the southwest monsoon effects weaken in these areas.
“We will enjoy the long weekend the next three days… We will experience good, sunny weather especially in the mornings, though we still expect cloudy weather with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening,” said Pagasa weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio.
Pagasa, however, warned that the southwest monsoon will still affect the western section of northern and central Luzon.
Aurelio said the monsoon’s effects in these areas will be enhanced by Tropical Storm “Mawar” outside the Philippine area of responsibility, 370 kilometers northwest of Laoag City as of Friday afternoon.
