2 dead, 3 hurt in Laguna shooting incident

SAN PEDRO CITY — Two persons died while three others were wounded in a shooting incident in Biñan City in Laguna province on Tuesday evening, the police said Wednesday.

Supt. Reydante Ariza, Biñan City police chief, identified the fatalities as Apolinario Mojica and Armando Anical. Wounded in the attack were Norman Panaligan, Mark Joseph Sagayno, and Eduardo Gomez.

The victims, all of them construction workers, had just returned to their barracks in Barangay (village) Sto. Tomas when unidentified suspects shot the victims around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Ariza, in a phone interview, said the victims earlier that evening “got involved in a fight” in the same village and were most likely tailed by the assailants to the construction site.

It was not yet clear what kind of fight it was and with whom, the police added. JE
