P5M worth of drugs seized in Ermita village, Cebu

CEBU CITY—At least P5 million worth of illegal drugs was recovered from a couple suspected of selling “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Barangay (village) Ermita, Cebu City on Monday, August 28.

The buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) resulted in the arrest of Norman Cristobal. Jovelyn Cristobal, the wife of Norman, eluded arrest.

According to PDEA-7 spokesperson Leia Albiar, the female suspect was the main target of the operation.

The Cristobal couple will be facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
