Llamados avenge loss to Meralco, log fourth win in eight games in PBA Philippine Cup

B-Meg weathered Meralco’s second half comeback to post a vengeful 95-79 victory last night in the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Llamados improved to 4-4 (win-loss) while pulling the Bolts down to 5-4.
More importantly, the win avenged B-Meg’s sorry 78-84 loss to Meralco in their first encounter last Oct. 15.

Article continues after this advertisementPeter June Simon scored 17 points, while Kerby Raymundo had 15 for the Llamados, who needed a strong fourth quarter to escape the Bolts.
B-Meg led by as many as 24 points in the first half and sat on a 55-35 cushion at the bend.
Slowly but surely, the Bolts managed to claw back in the third and trimmed the deficit to just five, 63-68, going into the final period.
The Bolts continued their attack in the fourth, staying within 66-71 inside the final 11 minutes before the Llamados made a bold move to put their opponent away.
Raymundo scored five straight points and Simon unloaded his own five successive points as the Llamados restored a double- digit spread en route to the easy victory.
Gabby Espinas paced the Bolts with 20 points.
