Drug suspect shot dead in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY – A local drug personality was gunned down here Saturday night, police said Sunday.

Supt. Arturo Brual Jr., Lucena police chief, said the victim, Jonnel Bulanon, 35, was found dead from several bullet wounds in his body along NIA Road in Barangay (village) Mayao Crossing at about 8 p.m.

Quoting investigators, Brual said Bulanon was seen talking to two unidentified men who suddenly shot him dead. He died on the spot.

After the shooting the assailants escaped on a motorcycle, police said.

“He (victim) was involved in illegal drug activities,” Brual said in a phone interview. He said the victim was arrested on Aug. 12, 2016 on drug use charges.

Investigation on the incident is ongoing. CBB
