Buyogan Festival
Dances mimicking the movement of bees or “buyog” are showcased in a festival in Abuyog, Leyte province. The cultural and historical roots of the municipality of Abuyog are highlighted in different programs that coincide with the town fiesta.

Haladaya Festival
The town of Daanbantayan in Cebu province celebrates Haladaya, which came from the words “Halad Kang Datu Daya.” As the leader of the first Malayan settlers in Daanbantayan, Datu Daya defended the town from attacks of Moro pirates. Festivities include a fluvial parade and street dancing.
Aug. 30
Hamungaya Festival
Locals of Isulan in Sultan Kudarat province celebrate the 6th Hamungaya Festival, along with the town’s 60th founding anniversary. Events include a drum and lyre competition and a street dancing competition.
