DID YOU KNOW: Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda)

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) was established under Republic Act No. 7796 signed on Aug. 25, 1994 by then President Ramos. It merged the labor department’s National Manpower and Youth Council, its apprenticeship program, and the education department’s Bureau of Technical and Vocational Education. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
