The three witnesses in the killing of Kian Delos Santos who are under Senator Risa Hontiveros’ custody have been turned over to the Senate committee on public order.

The executive session where the witnesses were supposed to testify had been postponed as Hontiveros needed to secure an authorization letter from the witnesses’ guardians.

In a press conference after the hearing, Hontiveros said they will ask authorization letter from the guardian of both 13-year-old and 16-year-old witnesses who is currently based in Qatar.

The other witness is aged 31 years old.

“Ni-request ni Chair Lacson na kunin itong authorization in writing sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Embassy in Oman at ipadala sa atin para magamit sa Martes,” Hontiveros said.

The committee will resume its hearing into Delos Santos’ death on Tuesday next week.

In the meantime, the witnesses will be under the protection of the Senate.
