Lightning kills farmer in Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY – A farmer died after lighting struck him on Wednesday afternoon in Libmanan town in Camarines Sur province, police said.

Farmer Juanito Canillo, 69, a resident of Zone 7, Barangay (village) Busak, was busy working on his ricefield when he was hit by lighting at around 1:15 p.m., Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said.

Policemen who responded to the incident brought the victim to Libmanan District Hospital but he died on the way there. Michael B. Jaucian
