DID YOU KNOW: August is History Month

/ 05:00 AM August 23, 2017

History Month is observed in  August by virtue of Proclamation No. 339 signed on Feb. 26, 2012 by then President Benigno Aquino III.

The proclamation moved History Week, observed from Sept. 15 to 21, to August and made it a month-long celebration.

The transfer and extension were made in view of major events in  Philippine history that happened in August.

The celebration  concludes with National Heroes Day on Aug. 30. —Marielle Medina
