Cop killed in Cagayan drug bust

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A police officer was killed in Pamplona town on Sunday while being chased after he reportedly sold narcotics to undercover policemen at Sanchez Mira town in Cagayan province.

PO3 Sherwin Pascual, a member of the Piat town police, allegedly fled on a motorcycle when he was about to be arrested for selling 4 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) at a 4:45 p.m. drug bust in Bangan village.

When he reached Nagattatan village in Pamplona, Pascual allegedly shot at the pursuing police officers and was killed when they returned fire, according to the Cagayan police office in Camp Tirso Gador. JE
