Businessman dead in Batangas shooting

BATANGAS CITY-A meat shop owner was shot and killed by a lone gunman in Lipa City in Batangas province on Monday, police said.

Senior Insp. Hazel Luma-Ang, Batangas provincial police information officer, said Noel Olan, 56, was in his shop in the village of Marawoy about 5 a.m. when the suspect approached and shot him.

Olan was hit in the head and died instantly

Recovered from the crime scene were three spent shells from a .45 cal. pistol.

Police have yet to arrest the gunman who, reports said, fled on foot.
