Cop hurt in drug buy-bust in Batangas town

BATANGAS CITY – A police officer who acted as a poseur-buyer in a drug buy-bust was wounded in Lemery town in Batangas province on Saturday night, police said.

Senior Insp. Hazel Luma-Ang, Batangas police information officer, said PO3 Jeffrey Luce was pretending to be a buyer of illegal drugs from Carlo Hernandez in village 3, at about 8:45 p.m. when, after the transaction, Carlo’s brother Jesus sensed that they were dealing with a police officer and fired at Luce.

Luce suffered a bullet wound on the chest and was brought to Our Lady of Caysasay Hospital for treatment. He was pronounced in stable condition.

Both suspects were arrested and detained at Lemery Municipal Police Station. –Marrah Erika Rabe /atm
